For those interested in doing private dredging on their property as a "piggyback" to the Manatee Pocket Project, there may be significant cost savings. Currently, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) is working on creating as many opportunities for savings as possible, so check back with us for updates on what they will be and what they will mean for you.

Additional Assistance for Private Dredging

Danna Small, DLS Environmental Services, Inc. has been contracted by the Manatee Pocket Bunch to provide coordination between individuals, businesses and Martin County.

She is assisting in the Manatee Pocket Project by gathering information and providing a clearinghouse for the potential amount of spoil material added to the project from individuals "piggybacking" on the Manatee Pocket Project. This information will also be utilized during the bid process.

DLS Environmental Services. Inc. can also provide information regarding the permitting process. This includes a free one hour private consultation for Pocket Bunch Members to explain the process, walk through the details and provide some guidance. Preparing permit applications for dredging and obtaining permits for individuals and businesses is not included in this consultation.
